Movement Lesson #3
In this lesson, we’re going to explore the muscles along the back of your body. These are the muscles that keep you upright. Defying gravity like they do is a big job, and for that reason these muscles are some of the largest and strongest muscles in your body. And, because so much is required of them, they are prone to getting short and tight. So today we’re going to explore how your whole backside can lengthen and coordinate efficiently.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
All you'll need for this lesson is a mat and yourself! And enough space to lie comfortably. If lying on the floor is not comfortable for you, try putting a pillow or pillows underneath your chest and belly. If that doesn't help, then trying doing the lesson in your imagination.
Make sure to wear comfortable clothes. Remove jewelry, belts, or any other articles that might restrict your movement. Also remove your glasses.
